In July 2010, the Geelong football team doctor, Geoff Allen, aged 49, suffered a cardiac arrest on the field during an AFL game at AAMI stadium in Adelaide. He was defibrillated on the ground within 3 minutes and survived, waving to the crowd as he was carried from the field.
